I have similar comments to the MySpace blog. My school is highly unlikely to unblock either fo these applications, so my use would only ever be personal - and that probably won't happen soon.
I have been a member of a couple of NIngs for quite some time - joined after conferences. Even though they are professional forums, I don't find the level of discussion to be very challenging or at a high level. Hopefully this will change as users become more used to this type of discussion.
